Le Péché des Moines
Lalande de Pomerol
Tasting notes
Vintage :
Pale, crystalline pink in color, the nose is highly aromatic, with notes of red fruit and citrus (orange zest and grapefruit).
Supple, round and fresh on the palate (pomegranate, raspberry), with a long, fruity finish.
1. Grape varieties
70% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc
2. Soils
The soil is composed of dry gravel and the subsoil is clay-silt-gravel with traces of iron oxide known as “crasse de fer”.
3.surface area
5.8 hectares
4. Vineyard work
The vineyard is cultivated in the traditional way, with parcel-by-parcel management: ploughing the soil, grassing, mixed planting, etc. Mechanical leaf thinning and green harvesting.
5.winemaking
The grapes are destemmed and crushed, then cold-macerated for five days to extract maximum aromas. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentations are carried out in temperature-controlled tanks. High-temperature vatting and final hot maceration last between 18 and 30 days, depending on the vat, to obtain maximum concentration and balance.
6.breeding
The wine is aged in oak barrels for 3 to 6 months, depending on the vintage, and bottled at the estate.
